Bathroom Accessories

Many times when a bathroom is getting cleaned, people focus too much on their main fixtures while overlooking their smaller bathroom accessories. These accessories include towel bars, hooks, toilet paper holders, soap dispensers and other complements to your bathroom. Keeping your bathroom accessories clean is important in keeping your bathroom clean as a whole. In addition to that, many of your bathroom accessories are in “high touch” or “high traffic” areas, meaning that many people or any given person is going to be touching the accessory many times in a short period of time. Fixtures such as sinks, vanities, bathtubs, showers and toilets are larger fixtures that usually get their own attention and generally are not overlooked. It is important to note that there are definitely correct ways to clean bathroom fixtures. If you you incorrect cleaning supplies you could end up damaging some of your beautiful bathroom fixtures, hurting them both visually and functionally. Once you have all of the right materials to keep your bathroom clean, you will want to maintain cleanliness as well as possible. It is important that you keep your bathroom accessories just as clean as your main bathroom fixtures.

Towel Bars and Hooks

Towel bars and hooks are in many bathrooms and usually get used every day. The towel bars in this conversation are the ones that hold towels that are used for showering and hand washing. A common way to clean towel bars and hooks is by simply using an all purpose cleaner and a wet rag to wipe down them down and then dry them afterwards with a dry cloth. One way to indirectly keep your towel bars and hooks clean is to keep up with the washing and cleanliness of your towels. Often times, people will hang wet towels on their towel bars/hooks, which isn’t a bad thing, but if they are kept there for too long, the wear on bars and hooks starts to increase. This isn’t a major issue however, being that many towel bars and hooks are made with material that protects them from any serious water damage. Many towel bars are made of chrome, so keeping them shine is essential in making your bathroom in top shape. As a side note, although towel bars may not come in direct contact with somebody’s hands, the spread of germs is still a definite possibility, especially if wet towels are being hung up to dry.
